Hey! I know it has been a hot minute since I blogged, and there is a new look around here. But don’t worry. I’m not lost! Life has been Coo-Coo for CocoPuffs kind of crazy, but I am still here.
Amidst the crazy, The Coach and I managed to sneak away to Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs, Ohio for a weekend. It is the coolest little town! It is definitely a must visit!
We stayed at the Mills Park Hotel. You cannot miss it when you drive into his adorable little town. It is a beautiful, home built in the 1800’s, complete with white pillars and a huge front porch.

Ellie’s Restaurant is located on the right side of the hotel. It is a lovely place for breakfast or lunch any day and they are open for dinner as well on Fridays and Saturdays. We had breakfast there before strolling around the town and it was fabulous!

There were no Cons to Ellie’s! I had a the Garden Omelette and a classic mimosa. Everything was so good! The prices are on par with restaurants and honestly I thought they would be higher. The service was amazing. As we came in, the lovely human at the host station greeted us and we were able to sit on the porch to enjoy breakfast.

Our Room at Mills Park Hotel
The original building was built in the 1800’s but the additions make it anything but outdated. The lobby is spacious and welcoming. There is a general store and a sitting area. The general store has everything from locally made goods to ice cream and snacks. We had to try the ice cream!

All of the guest room doors have an adorable wreath hanging as if to say “Welcome!”. The room had gorgeous hardwood floors and handmade furniture. There was even a pillow on the bed with an embroidered KEY on it! We had a Standard King room. There are suites available and many of the rooms open onto the second floor balcony! In lieu of a noisy ice machine on each of the three floors, “old looking” ice chests were filled with bags of ice for guests! I loved this touch. The front desk also had bottle openers and corkscrews available for guest to borrow for refreshments in their rooms. The attention to customer service here is amazing!
The bathroom also had noticeable attention to detail. The tile floors are beautiful. The fixtures continue the 19th century decor feeling. The sink and huge mirror are definitely give a more modern, high end vibe.

Pros:
Beautiful furniture
Attention to detail
Large windows with wood shutters inside
Comfortable Bedding
Wonderful Service/Welcoming Staff
Bath Products and Hair dryer
Large tub/shower – you all know that I appreciate a place to prop my foot while shaving my legs.
Laid Back Vibe
Incredible Restaurant
Cons:
The only con is that the bed squeaked whenever one of us moved. If you sleep with a “flipper” like I do, you know the importance of no squeaks. LOL
But that was the only not great thing about this place! Get yourselves to Yellow Springs soon!
